We host exciting Summer Camps for people with special needs at our Christian Beret Camps & Conference & Retreat Center, situated on 46 acres of wilderness in the Sierras, and located in Mi Wuk Village about 15 miles east of the 49er Gold Rush town of Sonora.
Every week is carefully designed to meet the specific needs of persons with disabilities.
Each Camp is designed to match the abilities of our guests in a safe environment, and to provide a camping experience that allows them to discover and enjoy new things within the scope of their abilities and interests.
We promote physical wellness, foster social interaction, and teach wholesome values. Our guests enjoy building friendships with our caring Staff and other campers. Together, they experience indoor and outdoor activities that encourage and engage them.
Group activities include archery, ping-pong, basketball, horseshoes, water games, whiffleball, foosball, volleyball, frisbee toss, shuffle board, hiking, and more!
Adaptive activities focus on the individual's unique abilities and skill sets.
Taking nature hikes, enjoying fun picnics, roasting marshmallows, and singing around the campfire are long-standing favorites.
Other activities include puppets, role playing with costumes, skits, crafts, drawing, painting, chalk talks, camp visits by forest rangers and fire trucks, fun photo opps sitting on Harleys, and more!
